Here's Hugh Parker

Hugh Parker is an actor, writer and teacher.

He possesses an acute and intelligent ear, adept at finding the most engaging way to deliver a read. Whilst living in the UK, London recording studios were his second home.

Hugh excels at the straight, comedic, tone-filled and humble art of the recorded voice. Not so much voice-over as voice chaperone. Characters, impersonations and a splash of silliness complete the Parker package.

Hugh’s quite the character

Hugh Parker’s certainly not one to be type cast. In fact, in recent times the versatile actor’s been in high demand for a wide range of roles. He’s currently rehearsing with Opera Queensland for a production of The Merry Widow. It’s a straight acting role, however, he does get to sing a song in Act Three.

“Thomas has done a sterling job. Love his work – it’s fabulous. Especially his transition between characters. The distinction is terrific. I was listening on the train platform, and when he read the opening section of My One Redeeming Affliction in the voice of Edwin Stroud, I was instantly transported back into the late 19th century which was an unexpected delight! Please accept and pass on my congratulations and heartfelt thanks for a brilliant job done. I can’t even begin to imagine the work involved in reading and recording that beast of a thing with all of those characters. BRAVO! It sounds SUPER!”

– Bernard Gallate, author of The Origin of Me.
